Jeg haaber, I alle har det godt i DK, og at I nyder tilvaerelsen.
I know, it's been a while since I last posted, so I figured it was about time to do so.
It's been Christmas and New Year's Eve, and now it is February.
A lot has been going on lately.
Before the break, I decided to try out for a play called "Love's Labour's Lost" by William Shakespeare. It's a really funny play, and I decided that I might as well try it out. I was very nervous - since it was my first audition for a play, but when we first got started, I got really into it!
I did the auditions both nights, Wed., and Tues., so I would get a better chance to get a part. Thursday morning would be the day for call backs.
A list would be posted on the door to the music room, and I was so nervous, and excited at the same time. I just hoped so much that I would be in it.
And when I finally came to the music room for choir, my friends came up - also people I didn't know - and said: "Congratulations."
I got a part!
I tell you! I was smiling for the rest of the day. That was really good news, and it's been a long time, since I've been this happy!
After the call back, I came home by knowing my new Character.
My new character is Jaquenetta. She is a flirty country girl - just in the play for fun.
The people in the play are so awesome, and I know this is going to be one of the best experiences in my life. I really enjoy acting, and it really opened my eyes that acting is a bigger job, more serious, and ambitious than I ever thought it would be. I am so glad it is, and I will definitely enjoy my last time in my theater class and the play, and the musical in the spring!!!
Christmas was very different, but also very good.
Christmas Eve was very strange. We got soup for Dinner, and then we went to church at 11 pm. It was just so different. Where were all the food, the Ris a la mande, the dressing up, the family, the dancing around the tree, the almond, opening the presents. I was wondering, but then I told myself. What did you expect. This is why you are here: To experience another culture and what belongs to it. Christmas was definitely a big part of that. But it was still a little strange... :)
Christmas day was another story.
We woke up, went downstairs, and opened presents like it was Christmas Eve, and then we went to Cincinnati with the whole family to visit family, eat ham, and open some more presents. It gave me a more Christmas-ish feeling.
After Cincinnati we went to Chicago! What a place. I really enjoyed that.It was kind of a mix between Paris and New York, but very different in a good way. I really enjoyed it. We ate from 95th flour, and we could see the whole city from that view. It was absolutely beautiful! I could definitely go there again! :)
Life is a lot about moving on and appreciating your surroundings. It's about enjoying every day as was it the last. No matter who you are surrounded by, no matter what you do, or where you are: Enjoy life! That's what I am working on, and I hope, you will do the same! :) Life is beautiful, and it is about finding the beauty in it, no matter how dark the night might feel, or the day in that case. You can always find a light, if you really try, and if you are really looking for it.
Today is a gray day, but I turned on my light in my room, so I can see. I can see the light, and I smile. To smile is a beautiful thing! It makes you look younger, and it gives you wonderful feeling. I smile to people I don't know - just because it mostly makes them smile, which makes you happy. You might have been their light in the darkness. That's my mission. To find and show the light.
I will encourage you all to smile, when you meet people you don't know. To appreciate life as wonderful as it is, and to enjoy it and the people around you. Life is beautiful.
